As we started talking about 1-2-4-Alls and Troika Consulting -  before we knew it - together we had designed an outline for his next conference event: Skillsfest 4.0.

What would happen if instead of one culture (The Dominants) taking over, a new culture is created that is more robust than both of the original cultures? A Robust system – whether a family, a work team, an organization, a society, or a nation – is a high-energy system where members are using themselves fully, and the whole system is using itself fully (Boudro & Coleman 2019). What would happen?

We experienced somatic and other breathing techniques and their application, a Sound & Motion drama improvisation activity, some powerful physical embodied work around ‘Getting Unstuck.’ and our hybrid session.

R [Resistance to Change] can only be overcome with the right combination of D [Dissatisfaction], V [Vision], F [First Steps], and S [Supports]. Moreover, when one of the four D, V, F, S is zero - the math is clear = zero change.

We gathered @ BGSU’s Levis Commons facility to experience mindfulness through music, readings, and mandalas; explore some of the basics of Graphic Recording, and walk and work through several Liberating Structures. Our feature hybrid session included an online/onsite Open Space experience connecting teams in-person and on-line with virtual tools.

Why use art-based collaborative processes and methods? Alongside the shared and participative experience, the art created [graphic recording, composition, theatrical sketch etc.] can often be used as an artifact for continued conversation or even as a way of providing entertainment.

Our event in March 2019 was focused on Polarities and our hybrid ONLINE & ONSITE KEYNOTE & Feature Presentation featured Jake Jacobs of Real Time Strategic Change and The Illumination Project. In the morning, Jake took us through a listening session on seeing the Polarities in our relationships and relationship building.

Thanks to all who came to our 2nd Great Lakes Collaborative. It was fabulous to have sixty participants online and twenty of you onsite at BGSU@Levis Commons for our first local/global Hybrid World Cafe!
